Cathy founded Cathy Stewart Associates as an independent coaching consultancy specialising in women’s advancement in business. 25 years’ experience as a chartered architect and project director leading design teams for multi-million pound buildings in large international practices has furnished her with a privileged view of how teams perform.

Observing the dynamics of numerous inter-team relationships Cathy became fascinated by what makes an effective team. Working in a gender imbalanced environment has also illuminated some interesting insights into the value of a blended team. How much do the characteristics of individual team members’ influence the overall performance and ultimate success? What motivates individuals to perform?

For 10 years Cathy has been a member of Women in Property and actively participated in the mentoring programme. She is a past National Chairman and current National Champion for the Student Awards programme initiated during her year in office. Women represent only 15% of the property and construction industry workforce. The Association of Women in Property is a national organisation that seeks to enhance the profile of women by providing a dynamic forum for women in these professions and by encouraging and nurturing aspiring talent.

Cathy is passionate about enabling everyone at every stage in their career to excel. Her naturally supportive style encourages her clients to explore their full potential and recognise their value.

Empowering individuals to take control of their goals makes for an effective member of the team and leader.

Cathy is now further exploring her interest in the advancement of people by studying an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School Executive Learning.
