Cathy Stewart Coaching

My history

As a child all I wanted to be was a meteorologist, that is until I received my A-level grades! A change of strategy was required. I had to get a job, it so happened to be in an architect’s office. Three years at Technical College on day-release resulted in achieving a place at Leicester School of Architecture. I became Chartered Architect in 1988

This early experience of ‘failure’ equipped me with a structured strategy for resilience during challenging moments that stayed with me throughout my professional life.

Out of adversity came success – more than I had ever imagined.

The journey to coaching

I have over 30 years’ experience as a chartered architect and project director leading multi-disciplined design teams for multi-million pound projects. I have held senior roles including Board Director of an international architectural practice, National Chairman of the Association of Women in Property and past Trustee of Twickenham Riverside Trust.
Working in a traditionally male environment has illuminated some interesting insights into the value of a blended team. It has given me a passion for supporting gender diversity, equality and inclusion

I worked with Cathy over the course of several months, as I was assessing career options at my current employer. Cathy helped me think about the things I really wanted and how I could achieve them. She got to know me well enough to ask exactly the right questions at the right time and ultimately helped me take back control of a situation where I felt I was in the back seat.
