About Me

Why I do what I do

Coaching Empowers individuals to identify and take control of their goals

I am passionate about enabling everyone, at every stage in their career to excel. I support, encourage, and challenge my clients to explore their opportunities, recognise their abilities and achieve their goals.

With 30 years’ experience as a chartered architect and project director leading multi-disciplined design teams for large international practices, I have become fascinated by what makes a high performing team and an effective team player.

My work and acheivements

Working in a traditionally male environment has illuminated some interesting insights into the value of a blended team. It has given me an interest in addressing the gender imbalance prevailing in some industries. For example in the property and construction industry women currently represent only 18% of workforce.

For my contribution in promoting women in the built environment I was awarded:

Women in the City, Woman of Achievement Award (Built Environment category) 2010

Working in local government at present is stressful.  Despite the improving economy it is a time of restructuring and downsizing to help deal with the national debt.  This means managers and staff have to respond flexibly to massive changes that can cause anxiety and fear about the future.  Coaching sessions with Cathy Stewart has equipped me to face these inevitable challenges.  The benefit has been strengthened resilience from improved self-esteem and a sense of direction along with learning some coping tools.   Cathy is a natural coach, with a warm and approachable style combined with the experience and gravitas to instil confidence.  My sessions have helped me to be a better manager and employee and if more sessions are needed in future she will be the coach at the top of my list.
